June - Sleep

Our theme for June is sleep. Sleep is as important to our health as eating, drinking and breathing. Insomnia and poor quality sleep are linked to physical ill health as well as mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. We explore sleep in more detail this month in our information session on the 29 June and we also have a new craft group starting on the 5th June which will be making eye masks, sometimes a useful aid to help improve our sleep.

We hope you will join us for this event and other events and activities at Quay place too. For all our current events and activities for this month click here to see the leaflet.

Sleep Mask Craft Group

Sleep Mask Craft Group

Sleep Mask Craft Group
Every Monday in June from 10.30am to 12.30pm
Monday 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th June

Many of us have some trouble sleeping at night. Two biggest distractions from that essential rest can be noise and light. Light, even moonlight, can keep people from reaching a deep and restful sleep. A sleep mask can not only block out the obvious sources of light, like lamps and televisions, but also natural light like the sun and moon. If your alarm clock or other electronics have a small LED light on them, that can keep you awake at night. As part of our month theme about sleep we will be making masks every Monday in our friendly group setting. Make a mask for yourself or to give to someone else. All materials will be provided. No need to book, just turn up.
