If you have an interest in the heritage of Ipswich and maybe wanted to know more and grow your knowledge of how Ipswich developed over the ages we are looking for volunteers to help us here at Quay Place. We have a wide range of tasks and activities for heritage volunteers ranging from support of out heritage archival work to research on all aspects of the history of Quay Place and the local community and businesses. Although a lot of work has been done there is so much more to do and this is an exciting opportunity to get involved.
Sitting in a dusty archive is not what we do. We want to actively research everything about Quay Place and the local area and then use that to develop programmes and activities which link our local heritage with wellbeing. You could be leading tours, running activities or just getting immersed in heritage. Some work can been done in Quay Place, some in records offices and the roles could easily be suitable for someone who just wanted to do research from home. The hours are very flexible as a result.
